Day 18 – To Invercargill

Saturday 29th March. Left Manapouri and went into Te Anau to get some light globes because the faulty alternator has blown our reading lights.
Then we headed south following the Southern Scenic Route which goes from Te Anau to Dunedin.
The day was fairly uneventful apart from the endless panorama of wonderful farming country as we wandered down ever expanding valleys.
We stopped at a variety of places including the Clifden Suspension bridge. That thing is built using 14 steel cables per side, steel rods/bolts and the rest is wood. Quite amazing.

We rocked into Invercargill and free parked at the Working Mens Club. If you don’t know where Invercargil is, its at the bottom of the South Island and where Burt Munro came from.
